Only released in 2020, the Polestar 2 is already making headlines again for next year’s model that includes a significantly reduced price tag.
The current offering starts $69,900, but soon the dual-motor electric vehicle will retail for a full $13,000 less at $56,900 (before government incentives). The performance remains the same, rated at 408 horsepower, while range increases slightly to 400 kilometres from 375.
For consumers seeking maximum value and range, they can choose the brand new single-motor option priced at $49,900, which bumps the maximum travel distance up to 426 kilometres though horsepower drops to 231.
Both variants can be ordered with a number of equipment packages to enhance the EV experience.
- The Plus Pack (+$5,500) bundles a full-length panoramic roof and interior upgrades like a panoramic glass roof, WeaveTech vegan upholstery and ambient lighting. The introduction of a mechanical heat pump also helps preserve performance and comfort for those living in colder climates.
- The Pilot Pack (+$4,500) adds driver assistance features such as dynamic cruise control, 360-degree camera, all-around parking sensors and more.
- The Performance Pack (+$6,000, dual-motor only) is aimed at driving enthusiasts and outfits the vehicle with Öhlins DFV suspension, lightweight forged aluminum 20-inch wheels wrapped in Continental sport tires, Brembo brakes and signature “Swedish Gold” accents.
The 2022 Polestar 2 is expected to arrive in dealerships towards the end of year.
