2024 GMC Acadia
The 2024 GMC Acadia represents the third generation of the brand’s mid-size premium SUV, which grows bigger in all directions and showcases additional cutting-edge tech and off-road capability.
With room for up to eight passengers depending on the configuration, there’s a whopping 80 per cent more cargo space behind the third row. The Google built-in-powered infotainment consists of a massive 15-inch portrait-oriented display, complemented by a 11-inch digital instrument panel.
All Acadias run a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard, and the vehicle can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. The available Denali grade is all decked out wearing 22-inch wheels and panoramic sunroof, while a rugged AT4 variant features a taller ride height, 18-inch wheels shod in all-terrain tires and a special suspension. Production begins early next year.
2024 Mustang Mach-E Rally
The first-ever rally-inspired Ford Mustang Mach-E is about to hit the dirt road.
Sitting on tuned springs and MagneRide shocks gives the unique model a 20-millimetre lift over the GT. That’s not all — the electric crossover sports gloss white 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/55/19 Michelin CrossClimate2 rubber providing extra grip in challenging conditions, and protective film and shielding guard the doors, fenders and motors from kicked-up gravel. A new RallySport drive mode tailors throttle response, damping and AWD settings to aid operation on slippery surfaces.
A chunky front splitter, grille-mounted foglights, racing stripes, black-painted steel roof and Focus RS-inspired rear spoiler help the EV look the part. Orders open in Q1 of 2024.
2024 Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition
Ram is about to say goodbye to a performance truck legend with the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX 6.2L Supercharged V8 Final Edition.
Manufacturing of the current-gen beast concludes at the end of this year, and the company is commemorating the occasion by releasing the above limited-edition pickup boasting Satin Titanium bead-lock-ready wheels and matching finish hood badge and bed decal; Patina dashboard and seat stitching; build number centre console badge; and carbon fibre interior detailing. A 19-speaker Harmon Kardon stereo bathes the space in crystal-clear audio, and three fresh paint colours are being offered as well (Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue and Harvest Sunrise).
Output is still rated at an eye-popping 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Restricted to only 4,000 units, the starting price is MSRP $150,270 and deliveries are expected to take place in Q4.
2025 Mini Countryman E
When it goes on sale in 2024, fans of the redesigned Mini Countryman will be in for a surprise. Not only is there a completely electrified version for the first time in the E, but measuring 4,433 millimetres long, 1,843 wide and 1,656 high the crossover is significantly larger than the outgoing model.
Thanks to a more aerodynamic profile and “Mini-malistic” (sorry) exterior, for example the previous chrome headlight accents and other extraneous trim pieces have been removed, the vehicle possesses a relatively slippery drag coefficient of 0.26 (compared to 0.31 before). Inside, the cabin looks to be quite comfortable with increased proportions and the implementation of knitted textile fabrics made from recycled polyester.
Buyers can opt for either a single motor FWD or dual AWD Countryman, the former producing 204 horsepower and the latter 313. Travel range is rated at 462 kilometres or 433, respectively.
