The 2018 Canadian International Auto Show is a little more than a week away and to ramp up excitement, the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) has just released their six finalists in the categories of Canadian Car of the Year (CCOTY) and Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year.
The first step in the process took place this past January at the Montreal International Auto Show. Winners of the 14 sub-categories were announced at a special media-only event. Today it was announced that out of those 14 winners, AJAC voting members have chosen three finalists for the title of 2018 Canadian Car of the Year and three for the title of 2018 Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year.
The 2018 CCOTY finalists are the new Honda Accord, winner of the best large car category, the new Mazda3, winner of the best small car title, and the new Volvo S90/V90, winner in the best premium large car.
The 2018 Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year finalists are the new Mazda CX-5, winner of the best compact utility vehicle segment, the new Mazda CX-9, winner of the best large utility vehicle title, and the new Chrysler Pacifica, winner of the best minivan.
Winners in both categories will be officially announced at special media-only event on February 15 one day prior to the official public opening of the 2018 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Ontario on Friday, February 16.
