The 2025 Audi Q5 introduces a more organic and refined aesthetic compared to its predecessor. The sharp creases have been softened, resulting in a fluid silhouette that exudes sophistication. A notable design evolution is the repositioned front air intake, now sitting higher beneath the signature Singleframe grille, lending the vehicle a commanding presence. S line models are distinguished by matte anthracite chrome-look accents, adding a touch of sportiness to the elegant exterior. Audi offers two styling options for the new Q5 and SQ5; a traditional SUV exterior and a Sportback design, for those willing to sacrifice a little interior headroom.

Under the hood, the Q5 offers a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, now augmented by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, delivering 268 horsepower. This setup provides responsive acceleration suitable for both city driving and highway cruising. It’s not overly fast, but you never feel a lack of sufficient power, even under hard acceleration.

The SQ5 elevates performance with a robust 3.0-litre V6 engine, producing 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain enables the SQ5 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 4.5 seconds, offering exhilarating performance for enthusiasts.

Both models are equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, delivering smooth and precise shifts. The available adaptive air suspension allows drivers to tailor the ride quality, adjusting from firm to more comfortable settings based on preference. On the winding roads of Málaga, the SQ5 demonstrated commendable composure, cornering with minimal body roll. However, the steering feedback was somewhat muted, aligning with its grand touring character rather than an outright sporty demeanor.

An optional 10.9-inch touchscreen is available for the front passenger, providing access to navigation, audio, and various apps, ensuring an engaging experience for all occupants. The interior space is generous, with thoughtful enhancements such as increased under-floor storage in the cargo area for added practicality.

Venturing onto the rugged trails surrounding the Andalusian hills, the Q5’s off-road capabilities were put to the test. The air suspension can raise the ride height, providing additional ground clearance to navigate uneven terrains confidently. Coupled with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system, the Q5 maintained steady traction on loose gravel and steep inclines, showcasing its versatility beyond paved surfaces.

For the Canadian market, the 2025 Audi Q5 is available with a starting MSRP of $58,700 + freight ($62,150)  offering a range of trims to suit various preferences. The SQ5, catering to performance enthusiasts, begins at $78,700 + freight ($82,100). Both models come standard with Quattro all-wheel drive, ensuring optimal performance in diverse driving conditions.

The 2025 Audi Q5 and SQ5 adeptly blend style, technology, and performance, making them compelling choices for those seeking a versatile luxury SUV. Whether navigating the scenic routes of Spain or the urban landscapes of Canada, these vehicles deliver a driving experience that is both engaging and refined. The all-new Q5 and SQ5 are expected to arrive in dealerships starting in May/June with the Sportback arriving starting in July/August.
