With Jaguar’s rich and storied history in the luxury performance car segment, I admit when I first heard about the all-new F-Pace, I was skeptical. I may have even laughed a little, and I certainly didn’t think I’d like it as much as I did. How could a company known for its luxuriously decadent cars, loaded with power and prestige, tackle the crossover segment; one typically reserved only for practical, function-over-form cars?
Yet, somehow they managed, and they managed it very, very well.

The real beauty of the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is the perfect combination of cat-like car reflexes, and the stability and internal practicality of a compact crossover. Based on the same platform as the XE, the F-Pace truly is a joy to drive in every sense of the word. The added ride height is perfect for gentle off-roading and most definitely our colder winter months. However, it doesn’t hamper with the big cat’s handling or performance.
Equipped with Jaguar’s fabulous 3.0L V6 Supercharged mill, this handsome crossover offers up 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Power is handled via an 8-speed automatic transmission that’s smooth and offers seamless shifts as well as steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters for more involved driving. And of course, this feline lands on all fours at all times, with all-wheel drive.
While the drive of the F-Pace is super important, the exterior and interior design are the real winners here. Stunning to look at, no matter the angle it’s viewed from, Jaguar’s produced a stable of truly attractive vehicles, and the F-Pace fits into the family lineup perfectly.
