Wagoneer Goes Long
The Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer set a high bar for luxury utility motoring when it debuted earlier this year, and now the brand has just introduced a long wheelbase version for each variant at the 2022 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS).
Already possessing above-average passenger and cargo room, the L is 305 millimetres longer with 447 litres extra storage space behind the third row compared to standard, making easy work of stowing luggage and/or oversized recreational equipment even when a full complement of eight occupants is on board.
A new 3.0-litre Hurricane twin-turbocharged inline-six engine propels both models, making 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque on the Wagoneer L and a tuned 510 horsepower and 500 lb-ft torque on the Grand Wagoneer L.
2023 Hyundai Palisade
The flagship Hyundai SUV showed off a bold refresh during the NYIAS press preview featuring a host of exterior and cabin changes.
The facelifted Palisade wears a wider cascading grille, framed on either side by vertical signature LED daytime running lights complementing the vertical tail lamps at the rear. Big 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels fill the fenders and revised front and rear skid plates reinforce the vehicle’s rugged appearance.
Inside, drivers benefit from an Ergo seat designed to reduce fatigue on long drives, and the wing-out style headrests on the second row yield greater comfort. On the tech end, an upgraded 12-inch 720p resolution infotainment system, more powerful wireless charging capability and added USB-C ports provide the latest in connectivity.
Chrysler Airflow Graphite Concept
Chrysler first teased the Airflow EV at CES back in January, and at NYIAS unveiled another form of the concept dubbed Graphite.
The sleeker offering is sprayed in a coat of Galaxy Black paint — which the company says is “inspired by a sophisticated urban mindset that feels at home navigating amid big city skylines” — with Cyprus Copper accents found bordering the panoramic glass roof and on the 22-inch wheels.
Contrasting the dark body is Ice Grey upholstery accentuating the modern and spacious interior. Resembling a first class lounge, the premium finishes are made using sustainable materials. Finally, the matching Cyprus Copper trim ties the whole package together.
