Hyundai Seven Concept
The Hyundai Seven Concept is set to make its Canadian debut at the upcoming Montreal Auto Show January 20 to 30.
This three-row SUV represents a continuing evolution of the Ioniq line and is also built on the E-GMP platform like the 5 and recently unveiled 6. Highlights include a long, low roofline, stretched-out wheelbase and wheels boasting something called integrated Active Air Flaps that are said to “deploy or retract depending on brake-cooling or low-drag requirements.” The front fascia wears full signature Parametric Pixel lighting, which illuminate in an animated fashion during start-up.
Opening the pillarless coach doors reveal a flat floor, customizable seating arrangements with chaise chairs in the rear, and retractable controls stick for the driver replacing traditional steering hardware hinting at an autonomous future. The Seven’s range is estimated at around 500 kilometres.
2023 Ram 1500 TRX Havoc Edition
What’s hotter than a 702-horsepower supertruck? One that’s sprayed in Baja Yellow, naturally.
Stellantis has announced the Havoc Edition, featuring a bright coat of paint and is based on the Level 2 Equipment Group bundling 18-inch black bead lock-ready wheels, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, spray-in bedliner, yellow interior accent stitching, carbon fibre trim, flat-bottom steering wheel and more. And of course, the beloved 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 engine.
Available in “very limited” quantities, sales start in January.
Polestar 3 Smart Eye
At CES on Jan. 3 luxury EV-maker Polestar will demonstrate the Smart Eye driver monitoring system standard in the flagship Polestar 3 performance crossover.
Consisting of two closed-loop cameras and AI software, the technology is capable of tracking a driver’s head, eye and even eyelid movements designed to trigger warning messages and sounds when drowsiness or distraction is detected. The system can even activate emergency stop if deemed necessary. Visitors to the show are invited to see how the above works in real-time.
The 2024 Polestar 4 is the brand’s first proper SUV and retails for MSRP $97,400.
