The automotive industry is undergoing somewhat of a renaissance — as zero emissions technology is beginning to take over, a number of new players are quickly coming onto the scene. One of those is Vietnam-based startup VinFast, that just debuted globally at the LA Auto show and unveiled two electric SUV models in the process.
“We are deeply motivated to inspire our customers to be bold and join the revolution to EVs to accelerate solutions that will address this [environmental] crisis,” says CEO Michael Lohscheller in a press release.
“VinFast believes that the ‘Future of Mobility’ will be one of smart electric cars that are highly personalized and integrated with technologies that benefit life and our environment. These vehicles will do so while meeting safety standards and delivering superior and comfortable driving experiences.”
Both of its EVs are quite aesthetically pleasing, with athletic proportions and fluid bodylines styled after the company’s “Dynamic Balance” design ethos. The VF e35 is the smaller of the pair with stacked headlamp housings and an aerodynamic profile, while The larger VF e36 is more squared off in appearance yet possesses sleeker elements like flush door handles and slimmer lighting elements.
Not much was shared in terms of powertrain specifics, however additional information should become available as the vehicles get closer to their spring 2022 launch date.
